# Note: Install Wincap before Jpcap

# Pre-Install
1. Get the firmware from the isp that handle the iptv (Telia in this case)
Note: You need to put your network cable into the iptv-port on your modem first.

2. Go to: Start -> Run -> Write: cmd <enter>

3. Get through the directories with "cd <dir>" until you come to jExtenders root directory.

4. Run:
- "client 2 239.16.16.202" (Wait on 17 files (no one should have .tmp extension)
These files should go inside the folder: "infocast"

- "client 2 239.16.16.209" (Wait on 1 file)
This file should go inside the folder: "kernel"

Note: If you have problem to get these files there might be another way
to get them, if you join IRC #iptv-extender or #jExtender @ EFNET

# Install
1. Download Java v1.6 (If you don't already got it)
- http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
- Select Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update X
- Note: Remember this program has 64-bits support

2. Download Wincap & install
- http://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm
- Direct link: http://www.winpcap.org/install/bin/WinP ... _beta4.exe

3. Download Jpcap & install
- http://netresearch.ics.uci.edu/kfujii/j ... nload.html
- Direct link: http://netresearch.ics.uci.edu/kfujii/j ... up-0.7.exe

4. Download VideoLan Client (VLC) & install
- http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

4. Make changes on your STB (Motorola/Kreatel)
- Make a cold restart on your box (Pull the plug)
- When the box restart press "info"-button or "menu"-button (Depends on what box you got)
- You should now see a blueish/purple screen with the name IP-STB Configuration
- Now press, in this order: 2, 3, 5, 7
- You should now have IP-Configuration window visible.
- Press the right button (NOT the buttons that has an OK-button) so you choose "Fixed"
- Address: The network address (IP) you want to give this box.
- Netmask: The netmask...
- Gateway: Can be whatever you want...
- DNS1: The IP number where you host jExtender
- DNS2: The IP number where you host jExtender
- Metadata: 239.016.016.202:05555 (This is important)

* Example
Address : 192.168.000.005
Netmask : 255.255.255.000
Gateway : 192.168.000.005
DNS1 : 192.168.000.001
DNS2 : 192.168.000.001
Metadata: 239.016.016.202:05555

- Press OK and save settings.
Note: If you already got an active iptv account you need to change this back to
"DHCP" when you want to watch regular TV.

5. Make sure you have these ports open:
80 (HTTP server)
8080 (Control VLC via the box)
53 (DNS Server)
5555 (Sending video stream)
And allowing to see IGMP-packets.

6. Start jExtender.jar

# jExtender SETTINGS

1. Network
- Interface: Select the correct interface for your network card
- Box IP: The ip you gave the box (My example 192.168.0.5)

2. Webserver
+ Type:
- Built-in: Use the built-in webserver (Try it out!)
- External: If you want to create your own GUI and already got a webserver running
you have this option.

- Built-in favorite folders: Add your favorite folders that you want to see from start
when running your box.
- External IP: IP to your external webserver

3. VideoLan Client (VLC)
- Path: Path to your vlc.exe

4. Save settings

5. Manual boot
- If you have problem and the box dosen't autmoatic boot you can always use manual boot

- Sometimes when trying to play streams, it simple dosen't play
Temp solution: Restart the application
