Yes, the cable is plugged into the internet port on the router, and when I plug it in, the internet light on the front of the router turns on as well as the data and LAN lights on the modem.

Try again the setup from the second picture and write 192.168.1.1 to both Gateway and Local DNS under Network setup.

I get the same results with that. Any other ideas?

What I can't figure out is why would a DHCP assigned IP address get passed on to my computer instead of 192.168.1.XXX?
